BUT at about 6 weeks old, baby girl started having some tummy and gas problems. our pediatrician suggested trying one of these because the movement and vibration can help sort of break up the gas bubbles. and just keeps baby more comfortable and gives your arms a break. still not sure if it was worth it, i borrowed a swing from a... I really like this baby swing. I babysit for my daughter who has a newborn and a3 year old. I have another swing, although it may be cuter, it's not as versatile as this one. first of all, it's sturdy and it's easy enough to put together. It runs by batteries or plug it in. It's a nice gliding motion, gentle. I love the vibrations. For some reason, vibrations always calm the babies down. you can unhook this and it becomes a carrier which is just priceless in my house. Instead of bringing baby out, and putting them in another seat, this one does it all. It's very very plush too. I wish i could fit in there ! It has 2 nice plush toys hanging which keeps their interest and encourages eye movements and grabbing. It's very well made too. The thing that I like the most if the gentle gliding motion. This is worth the price. It's just so useful for many things. The battery or electricity thing is genius. I have to say that this compact baby swing is just that, compact. Not like the big ones that you usually see. Assembly is also pretty simple and straight forward. I like the fact that its a 2 in 1, both a glider and a bouncer so you're generally saving yourself a bit of money. The glider according to Graco is for babies up to 30lbs and the bouncer for babies up to 20lbs. It does come with a newborn baby support insert so it's great for your newborns and you'll be able to give mom a break while baby gently glides or bounces so you can get things done around the house. It's not loud and obnoxious but the toys could have been a bit prettier in my opinion.Another feature that I've been loving since they've introduced it is the battery/AC option. Now you can take this to any room in the house as long as you have an outlet there and if you don't then you have the option of using a battery.
